Lead Water Mitigation Technician – Raleigh, NC

Job Description

For over 50 years, Kustom US has provided emergency property restoration and construction services to residential, commercial, industrial and governmental property owners through facilities located throughout the US.

The Lead Water Mitigation Technician is responsible for supervising work on emergency and non-emergency service jobs to perform advanced techniques for water and fire mitigation, as well as, remediate areas damaged by mold, water or fire.


  • Familiarity with mold remediation practices
  • Oversee emergency board up, water extraction, and fire mitigation services efficiently and safely
  • Ability to interpret mold assessment protocols for remediation work
  • Oversee demolition and general clean up
  • Direct all field personnel and ensure quality of workmanship
  • Inspect all jobs on a weekly basis or as needed for quality control, safety, and compliance with applicable rules, laws, and statutes
  • Track projects’ status, complete paperwork, update database, and upload documents
  • Schedule field personnel to perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, removing debris, set drying equipment and complete moisture mapping
  • Manage the customer experience through the proper setting and monitoring of expectations
  • Responsible for warehouse organization and safety
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of drying equipment
  • Monitor consumable material stock
  • Interface with customers and relay information to management when appropriate
  • Monitor the safety, security, efficiency, and appearance of the company jobsites and vehicle
  • Recognize and mitigate jobsite safety hazards

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, lift 50 LBS and occasionally climb ladders, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in extreme hot, cold and humid conditions
  • Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls
  • Clean driving record and background check

Required Education and Experience”

  • 2-year experience in construction and / or restoration
  • Experience with using Moisture Mapper or any other related water mitigation software
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Understanding of basic construction safety
  • IICRC water certification or willingness to obtain
  • Familiarity with IICRC S500, S550 and S520 Standards
