Assistant Controller – Pasco, WA

Zion Restoration recently joined the Kustom US, Inc. team. The result of this partnership has created an opportunity for this new position in their Pasco office.

Position Overview

The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting responsibilities of the local office / division. Responsibilities include general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, reporting, accurate data reporting, and maintaining internal controls. Actively managing the WIP report to drive production and collections. Act as the point of contact for Regional and Corporate staff for items relating to local office human resources, accounts payable and monthly financials. Assist General Manager with the day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Review Division WIP report to ensure accuracy in job status, contract values, costs
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of job documentation abiding to Company’s requirements
  • Lead bi-weekly WIP meetings with Production Team and Regional Controller
  • Ensure project management database is updated and accurate to mirror accounting database
  • Identify low margin jobs and bring to the attention of operations for issue resolution
  • Ownership of job cost processes and knowledge of job status at any given time
  • Invoice jobs per construction contracts and/or mortgage company terms
  • Responsible for AR Aging review, aggressively manage receivables over 90 days. Manage lien requirements, prepare files for collections and small claims as needed
  • Review and approve job costing and GL coding of credit cards statements
  • Ensure deadlines for monthly financial data entry are met
  • Review and approve hourly timesheets and local office PTO requests
  • Act as liaison between local office employees and corporate staff
  • Oversee organizational planning and development for administrative staff

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
  • 5-7 years of financial experience within a fast-paced construction/insurance restoration or claims management environment
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • GAAP and WIP accrual experience preferred
